Alright, so it's the first day of school. My last first day of school (if that makes any sense). At least for undergraduate. Seeing first-year students around all weekend was weird for me. A little surreal. Just 3 years ago, that was me, but we all felt SO cool then. And on my way home from work on Saturday, I was just like, "freshman." It's not bad, it's not good, just an acceptance that they're at an entirely different place in their lives than I am. I have an apt, and 4 jobs, and a life in des moines entirely outside of school. For them, they have school. and a roommate. (and dorms that are blazingly nice these days). So anyway, just a quick little blurb before I head off to class this morning. I'm sure I'll all of them again, looking stary-eyed and asking where Olin is as I walk to FAC. HA! I hope that I'll get to interact with some of them and see the fiery passion and drive I had/have then and now for my beloved Drake University. :-P
