here in little 'ol Iowa

So they hosted a national Democratic Debate here at Drake on Sunday. It was a huge deal around these parts. Jarrett and I got up to watch it live on TV. It was really weird to see that happening on TV in Sheslow Auditorium less than 2 blocks away! Anyway, so after the debates, they all went to different venues around Drake to see their supporters. Obama went to Planet Sub which is right underneath my apartment complex! So Jarrett and I sat on our balcony and took pictures. It was so amazing to see a presidential candidate within view of my apartment complex on my own balcony. Then Jarrett went downstairs to Dubay's restaurant and saw John Edwards. WOW.

On Monday, I went home to Omaha to see my parents. My mom had surgery on her foot to help heal a small fraction. She is doing well, though hates being so layed up. Tuesday, I had lunch with one of my former choir directors and then drinks with my other former choir director. It was nice to see them both. This morning, I came back to the DSM and finish getting ready for school. The first-years moved in today apparently. I had helped the last two years, but this year wasn't involved with it. I've helped move 3 people to new apartments this summer, two being out of state. SO, I think I did my part.
