Yea, don't ask me about the title, it's one of my favorite phrases. Remember those sexy, roof-top, club-dancing Motorola commercials? Yea, that's what it's from.
Anyway, this weekend was Johnston Show Choir Invitational. Valley competed in the day show and made it to finals AND took Best Female Soloist for Alex Beem and her solo in the ballad. They performed again and ended up with a 5th runner-up trophy. I'm so proud of them! Who says teaching isn't gratifying? :-P Next weekend they will travel to Omaha to compete at Omaha Westside's competition.
That was basically my entire weekend. On Wednesday of this week is my 21st birthday. Yea, after that, it's all downhill from here, right? I'm going to have dinner at Crave, then drinks at Cabaret and campus bars. It should be fun, but hopefully not too bad, I have class the next morning at 9am. My week consists of more class, and even more rehearsal for show choir.
Anyone going anywhere for spring break? I've been left in the dust the last two years and spent it in Omaha doing nothing. This year, I'm determined to go somewhere. It WAS going to be NYC, but now I'm thinking Chicago. I might go with a friend, we'll see. Everything is pretty preliminary right now. All I know if that I'm not going home. Been there, done that. LOL
I had to share this with everyone. It's too funny. I don't know where they come up with this stuff, but it's hilarious:
Place of the Post is: Des Moines's East Village. The only way to describe the East Village is as Des Moines's answet to NYC's SoHo. Built near the Capital grounds, it is a mecca of restaurants and shopping. I've only been there a few times, and it was fun, but it's no Old Market in Omaha. You'll enjoy our time in this eclectic, but fun Des Moines experience.
