When does it stop?

This week has been quite the little adventure. I'm surprised I can even remember back as far. I apologize for not posting more often, my life has been quite hectic. This week was, in fact, my 21st birthday! I suppose that it all goes downhill from here, right? Either way, I have a very enjoyable evening, and a very rough morning. I went to dinner and then out for festivities.

This one is of all my girls that came out for my birthday! They mean the world to me...

A cute picture of Lynell and I...

Rad and I at dinner...

I was able to go home on Monday because I needed to get my military ID renewed before I turned 21, and I stayed to have dinner with my parents, sister, aunt, and uncle. It was good to be home with family, even if for just a little bit.

That brings me up to Thursday. I had show choir rehearsal and Senate, then Friday was work in Admissions and more show choir rehearsal. I apparently had opera rehearsal that I didn't know about, but they didn't call me until it was over half over and I was at Valley, so I didn't go. Friends of Drake Arts hosted a Swing Dance that I went to that night. I was surprised at the turnout. There were a lot of people there, spaning quite an age range as well. I had to turn in early because Valley Show Choir was going to Omaha the next day for a competition at 7:30.

So that is what I was doing for most of the weekend. Valley traveled to Omaha Westside's Competition of Excellence. They competed in the day show and made it to the top six out of 20-some choirs to go to night Finals. They performed again and ended up with 4th runner-up and best combo awards! I am so proud of them!!! They really stepped it up during Finals and I had two judges come up and tell me how well they performed and one even saying that it was best they've ever seen Valley perform!

Here is a link to pictures from their performance at Johnston last weekend:

Place of the Post: West Glen Town Center in West Des Moines. It's where I went to dinner and celebrated my birthday. It's like the old Main St of yesteryear, but new and fancy, with restaurants, shops, and residential apartments.
