wacky weekend-kind of...

Ok, so I mostly just wanted to show off pictures of Joe Biden and KatieeEEEEEee!!!! I've now decided to call Joe Biden "Biddy." I'm not sure why, but I think Joe Biden is boring and Biddy is much more exciting. ANYWAY, he was at Des Moines's one and only Mars Cafe (below my apt) speaking to people at 8am. That means his staffers were at Mars at 5AM! to set up. And of course, they weren't quiet about it either. Subsequently, I got up at 5 as well to finish studying for my Music History exam. How convenient. And as luck had it, I saw him crossing the street to Mars at five to 8 on my way to FAC. My roommate snapped a few pics of him for work and he kindly shared them with me (though he used my camera, so they're tehnically mine, right?! HA!)

The lady in the baby-blue t-shirt does not look impressed with Biddy:

And in this one he looks kinda like Bob Barker:

I thought I'd show the more interesting photos. Who wants to see boring ones?!

So now on to the more exciting part of the blog: KATIE'S WEDDDDINGGGGG!!!!! It was very magical. It was at the Salsbury House. Everything was just so very....Katie. From the decorations, to the ceremony, to the reception, it was amazing. All of us Ambassadors sat together and watched on as the blushing bride made it down the isle. She looked like a million bucks. Her gown was simple and elegent. The groom was in a chocolate suit with Chuck Taylors, very much his style. The reception was at the Capitol Room in the East Village. A smaller room, but very well-decorated with centerpieces and chocolate table cloths. Brunch of pastries and fruit was served. We even got an ambassador photo with Katie. It's like 20 children she never knew she had! :-P

Yay Chris and Katie!

They're married!

My dear Katie and I at the reception!

All (well most) of the ambassadors and Katie!

Place of the Post: Sonic. Now I know this may not be new to some of you, but if you want some authentic, franchise-quality All-American drive-in, you get yourself down to Sonic. Somehow I've been there twice in the last two weeks, but I enjoyed every minute of it. I prefer the cheezy tots and Cherry Limades, but they serve up some other delectable treats as well. You'll just have to go and find out for yourself.
