fast-track it

Phew...having fall break has KINDA given me a few more days to catch up with life. That doesn't help that I have 2 voice competitions in the next two weeks, or that I have another huge music history event this week (exam on Friday), but at least I was able to get myself the best 10-hours of sleep I have had in a while. Last night, I went to Zen, a new sushi restaurant downtown, and it was pretty decent. It wasn't amazing, but just as good as Taki I think. And for a Monday night, had decent volume.

Today has been........unproductive. I mean, I got a ton of sleep last night and I went to work for a while, but afterwards, I had lunch, went to CostCo, and am now blogging. I need to get some homework done before I go to work at 4, which is only an hour away. Boo. AND, I still have to iron my uniform and get stuff together. Ugh. How frustrating. Well, as soon as I get home, it's into super-homework mode for me. Meeting at 10 for Ed 142, and then making flashcards and studying Music History after that. Ok....good to go. And I'm not doing a ton this week except voice stuff and Music History exam Friday. That was re-assuring. Ok, so not so much, but I'm trying to be optimistic! HA!

So I went out last Friday in Lincoln at UNL and saw a bunch of people who I'd gone to Middle School with. It was kinda awkward. I hadn't seen some of these people since I was 14 and am now 21. Not to mention the environment was different as well as who we are. It was fine though. We all caught up over drinks. At least these ones are still in college. I have seen way too many people who I went to school with (K-12) that have gotten married, had kids, and dropped out of school as early as 17/18. I'm not saying that's bad, but definitely not what they intended I don't think. And definitely not what I want in my life at this point. I can hardly take care of myself, let alone another person! HA! More power to those people, I'm sure it's not easy. But then again, neither is my life. It's different, but not easy.

Anyway, enough of the stories. Summery: Test on Friday, work this weekend. MTNA and NATS (vocal competitions) coming up soon! Hopefully DSM Symhony on Sun afternoon.

Place of the Post: Zen. Not any more amazing than other sushi places, but nice atmosphere and decent prices.
