"this ain't no ordinary"

One of my friends has a great quote, "Crazy is the forecast for all week." That could not have been a better term for this week, and even more next week. Ugh. Anyway, notable things about this week - work on Monday and Thursday at Crav'a'flav. My friend Kelli, a.k.a. Fannie cracks me up. Courtney too, but she only sits at the hostess stand. Also, a coaching with one of our new voice facultry, Christine Fortner. She's AMAZING. And is helping me with my search for grad schools next year.

Last night after I got home from work, I was SOOO exhausted. I went to have a drink at Fire-something Creek on Mills Civic Parkway with Fannie and Courtney. It was delicious. With one drink, and an exhausting week behind me, I went home, and blissfully fell asleep at 10:30.

I've been trying to come up with new topics to discuss in my blog except my super-busy life. I read a few of the other student blogs and they talk about all these campus events going on, but I live off campus and are pretty much only invovled in academic pursuits on campus these days, being a senior living off campus and all. My roommate is involved in politics, but that's always a touchy subject to discuss. Things to do in Des Moines? Yea, I talk about that some. The pondering will continue.

Grad school is the bain of my life right now too. I know it's a little bit away, but way too close for comfort. I really don't like that I have to go through this whole process I did 4 years ago AGAIN. I have lots of in's at good schools, but most of them are far away from here (i.e. East Coast), which means lots of trips and flights out there. More updates later.

Place of the Post: Fire (something) Creek, off Mills Civic Parkway and I-35. We went there for drinks last night. Extremely quiet and intimate atmosphere. Definitely a good date place I think. The drinks were good too! Someone go there and let me know how the food is.

I think you should write about your work in the admissions office and how amazingly fun it is!
