the saga continues

Today couldn't have been a more weird day.

We all arose around noon, as is the case with most college students who don't have much to do with their lives. We decided we wanted to go to the Czech Village, some small little touristy attraction on the Southwest side of Cedar Rapids. The lot of us pile into Adam's CX-7 and speed into CR. Upon arrival, we decided we should go to the restaurant to get some perogie (sp?). It turns out that lunch was over, and they would be open for dinner at 4:30. So instead, we decided to sip on some Czech beer at the tavern next door. After our drink, we went down the street to the National Czech and Slavik Museum. We were able to only spend but a few short minutes inside before the tornado sirens went off and we were asked to stay in the building and shuffle into the bathroom where we sifted through Jenna's purse and played cards. About 25 minutes through, Adam aka Tex, decided it was time to leave. We shuffled past the old ladies while they asked another man, "Where are they going? Are they LEAVING?!" We drove back down to the tavern where business was as usual to have another Czech delight before getting some perogies and cabbage rolls and off to rehearsal.

Rehearsal tonight was not spectactular, but it was sufficient. By the time we got back to the cabin, I needed to work on my online class now that I have the fantastic dialup internet connection. Tonight I connected at 37k. hot.

As for tomorrow, it requires a 11-1, 2-5 rehearsal for Into the Woods, and a 7-10 dress rehearsal for Elixir of Love. At least I will stay busy and not remind myself how much I'm not really liking Cedar Rapids. Yes, stay busy. July 6th will be here soon enough. :-/

Of course having little to no internet access affords me time to sift through my massive collection of pictures and edit them. I'm adding them one at a time, since uploading one pictures takes 6-10 minutes. The first in this serious is of Melissa and I during Relays.

Place of the Post-Cedar Rapids: Czech Village. "Czech" it out folks. If you want bars, antiques, restaurants, and museums all of the Eastern European variety, this is it.
