Where did my last week go? I seriously don't know. I seem to be so busy all the time.
Anyway, last weekend, I didn't have any show choir competitions to do, which was amazing. I actually had a Saturday to do some work and catch up on things. Saturday night, I worked at Crave, but had to close, so I made quite a bit of the cash. nice. Sunday was catching up on more work, going to recitals, and watching the Superbowl with Rad.
This week whirlwinded to a quick start. I had a Theory exam on Tuesday that took a lot of studying for. I am also spending a ton of time getting ready for opera rehearsals and auditions for summer programs. The one I really want to do is in Cedar Rapids with CR Opera Theatre. They're doing an opera in English and Into the Woods by Sondheim, one of my favorite musicals! The other is Bay View Festival in Michigan which is doing an opera in Italian, Carousel, and a Hollywood revue. It should be fun as well, but I would like the Cedar Rapids one more I think.
This weekend has a lot of stuff in store. On Friday, I am spending most of the day working on the Audition Days for the Music Department. I LOVE to work with perspective music students who are in the same spot I was 3 years ago, trying to figure out what school they want to go to. I love showing off Drake, and why I chose to come here. On Saturday, I am shadowing Dina Else, my Show Choir Methods professor, at the Urbandale Show Choir competition. I am super-excited. I LOVE show choir and Dina. That night, I am singing for a big fundraiser for Drake at the Salisbury House. YAY!
More to come soon...
