Phew....it seems like a slow week to me: Music Theory exam on Tuesday, Conducting from memory on Wednesday, and Music Theory Listening Exam on thursday. In the bag.
Though it seems like I didn't get much done this weekend: being a boring Betty on Thursday and Friday, MTNA ALL day on Saturday, Halloween festivities Saturday night. I didn't with MTNA either, or come close apparently, but a good experience nevertheless. But oh you wait, I have another competition next weekend. Thursday I'm leaving for the Central Region National Association of Teachers of Singing competition in Rock Island, IL. Too many singers, too little space. I'm not sure how that will pan out.
So I've been thinking lately, as the wise Senior I am, about my decision coming to Drake. I'm not happy with everything here, but I don't think its possible to be completely satisfied with any college decision. Every school has their strengths and weaknesses. But overall, I am glad I came here. Even more importantly, the contacts and faculty interactions I have had here with my most important faculty (my voice teacher Leanne Freeman-Miller) have exceeded my expectations exponentially.
So to all you high school seniors who are looking at schools: go, look, explore, and find a place that you are comfortable with. It will be your life for the next four (who knows, possibly more) years. It's not an easy decision, but hopefully the best decision of your life.
Ok, enough of the sappy senitments....
Place of the Post: Old Chicago. World Beer Tour, enough said. Ok, they also serve some darn good American grill-ish stuff. And good pizza. So yea, Merle Hay Mall. Go.
